Alignment Resources
If you’d like actionable tips on how to align your team or organization, including our ten-step Alignment Model, see our book, Triple Crown Leadership, chapter 6, “Alignment,” or our article, “How to Align Your Organization for Peak Performance.”
About this Alignment Scorecard
We developed and refined our ten-step Alignment Model based on our own extensive experience in organizations across industries and sectors; interviews with leaders in 61 organizations in 11 countries; and research on the world’s most admired, ethical, and sustainable companies. We developed this Alignment Scorecard as practitioners and “pracademics”: practitioners who have also taught in universities and conducted extensive research. While it’s not a scientifically validated instrument, it’s a practical tool for assessing your organization’s current level of alignment.
About the Authors
Bob and Gregg Vanourek (a father/son team) are practitioners of high-performance leadership with over fifty years of combined experience—including successes, failures, and battle scars. We’ve led and worked in and with publicly traded companies, turnarounds, startups, nonprofits, and social ventures. Most of all, we’re passionate about finding better ways to lead.
About the Book
Triple Crown Leadership champions a better brand of leadership that builds excellent, ethical, and enduring organizations. The book was a winner of the International Book Awards and called “the best book on leadership since Good to Great.” The book provides advanced leadership practices for how to achieve exceptional results across stakeholders, with integrity, and sustainably. It addresses leading people; setting purpose, values, and vision; the hard and soft edges of leadership; building culture; alignment; breakdowns; startups; social impact; turnarounds; and more.
